Folksy Friday

It's been a few weeks since I have been able to do a Folksy Friday - I've been working loads of extra hours at work it's been a little crazy!

So, for those of you following my rising career in the world of Business, I have a job interview next week. Obviously, I realise that nowadays people are checked out not only on the basis of their CV, but also on their social networking. I have recently deleted myself from Facebook, as I feel the drama and negativity there will affect my chances of getting a decent job.

Maybe I'll go back, maybe I won't. But there is a strange freedom in not caring what 176 people I haven't spoken to in 5 years are up to.

Funny story - the company that I work for has employed a career consultancy firm to help us through this transitional period. Exciting right? So I have this consultation with the woman from the firm, and she looks through my CV and circles things I might like to change or have repeated, or suggests that I change the order of things, which is fine. Even though I have sent it to a number of companies, it's fine.

Except when she gets to my achievements sections. For I have misspelt achievements. How can this have happened to me? All those fabulous events jobs I applied for...nothing, and why? Because spell check doesn't auto-check capitalized words! I actually came out of the meeting wanting to give up and cry in a corner.

So now I have recovered from that little humiliation, I am back on the job-hunting trail, applying for jobs just slightly above what I am doing now. It's time to move on and move up, dearest blog-readers, wish me luck!

In the meantime, here are some beautiful Folksy Finds for this beautiful Friday, on the theme of moving onwards and upwards in a beautiful balloon :-)

I love the idea of this fabulous fabric-beaded necklace, the fabric is fun and it would look lovely with a marl grey tee...I might snap this one up myself. It's available in the shop of Cotton Candy Corsage.

I love the softness of this print, it would look adorable on my little boys bedroom wall over his bed - it's by Little Blue Bird.

I do not think there can ever be too much bunting in your life, and this quirky balloon bunting from Mushy...Makes is just adorable.

Have a lovely positive weekend :-)
